Deal
Seven tableau columns are dealt from left to right. The first has 1 card, the second 2, through 7 cards in the seventh column. Only the top card of each column starts face up.
RULES
How to play Klondike Solitaire
The goal is to move all 52 cards to four foundation piles, one pile per suit, from Ace through King.
Build the tableau
Move cards in descending order while alternating colors: for example, a red 8 can hold a black 7.
Use empty columns
Only a King, or a valid sequence beginning with a King, may be moved to an empty tableau column.
Play the stock
Draw cards from the stock into the waste. Available waste cards can be moved to the tableau or foundation when legal.
Build foundations
Start each suit with an Ace, then build upward by suit: A, 2, 3 … Q, K.
Win
You win when all 52 cards are placed on the four foundations.
